Persons who wish to address the City Council are asked to complete a speaker’s card and give it to the City Clerk before addressing the City Council. Those who wish to address the City Council on an agenda item will be heard when the presiding officer calls for comments from the audience. City related items not on the agenda will be heard under the Public Input section of the agenda. Following recognition, persons desiring to speak are requested to advance to the podium and state their name and address. If you are joining us by Zoom, please click on the bottom of your screen to raise your hand. If you are joining us by Zoom using a cell phone, please press *9. After hearing audience comments, the public portion of the meeting will be closed, and the matter brought to the City Council for discussion.

 

Materials related to an item on this agenda submitted to the City Council after distribution of the agenda packet are available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 375 Fifth Street, Hollister, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon, 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  (City Hall is closed between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m.)

 

Requests to make presentations to the City Council should be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office at least ten days before the City Council meeting.  It is customary for City staff members to review such matters before the formal presentation so that the City Council may have the benefit of all available data. PowerPoint presentations must be presented to the City Clerk by noon on the day of the City Council meeting.

This is the time for anyone in the audience to speak on any item not on the agenda and within the subject matter jurisdiction of the council. Speaker cards are available in the lobby, and are to be completed and given to the City Clerk before speaking. When the City Clerk calls your name, please come to the podium, state your name and city for the record, and speak to the City Council. All items listed under consent agenda will be enacted by one motion authorizing actions indicated for those items so designated.  There will be no separate discussion of these items unless requested by a member of the City Council, a staff member, or a member of the public. There will be one public comment period for all items on the Consent Agenda.

  • RECOMMENDED ACTION:

    Adopt a resolution approving an updated Airport Use Agreement with TruWeather Solutions, Inc. to place advanced weather sensor instruments at the Hollister Municipal Airport and authorizing the City Manager to execute the updated Agreement.

  • RECOMMENDED ACTION:

    Approve a Boy Scouts of America Organization Eagle Scout candidate to complete a project on the Veterans Memorial Building grounds and the Veterans Memorial Building named project beneficiary.

  • RECOMMENDED ACTION:

    Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Council to approve and assign a Designation of Applicant’s Agent for the required Non-State Agencies Form 130 to be eligible to receive funding from the State of California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services.

  • RECOMMENDED ACTION:

    Adopt a resolution approving an agreement with Long’s Custom Discing for Weed Abatement Services and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement.

  • RECOMMENDED ACTION:

    Adopt a resolution declaring the intention to levy and collect assessments for Landscape and Lighting District No. 93-1 for Fiscal Year 2025/2026 and setting the public hearing by the City Council for the levy and collection of assessments for Landscape and Lighting District No. 93-1 for Fiscal Year 2025/2026 for June 2, 2025 at 6:30 pm in the City of Hollister’s Council Chambers, 375 Fifth Street, Hollister, CA 95203.

  • RECOMMENDED ACTION:

    Provide direction to staff on which approach to take for developing a Business Advisory Commission (BAC), including any requirements for membership roles and responsibilities.

  • RECOMMENDED ACTION:

    Provide direction to staff regarding:
    1. The consolidation of the Parks and Recreation Commission, Arts and Culture Commission, and Youth Commission into a single Commission, and if appropriate, determine the structure of the new consolidated commission, including membership size (five or seven members) and meeting frequency (monthly or quarterly);
    2. Sunsetting the Historic Resources Commission;
    3. Modifying the meeting schedule of the Airport Advisory Commission, changing its frequency from monthly to quarterly;
    4. Formally disband the Disaster Council and
    5. Direct staff to bring back resolution(s) and ordinance (if required) reflecting the recommended changes.

  • RECOMMENDED ACTION:

    Review the request for renewal and direct staff to return at a later meeting to either approve or deny, the Cannabis Regulatory Permit for Monterey Bay Alternative Medicine Hollister, Inc. at a proposed new location, 1785 San Felipe Road.
